    About Me

For one reason or another, you've decided to check out the 'About Me' page of this site, so here it is. First of all, hello and welcome to my site! I have been an avid collector of video games for quite some time, though my main interest is what this site is about. Although I have just recently become enamored with the mystique and mystery of the former Nintendo Authorized Service Centers (my interest really took off around March, 2006), through my own personal dealings and research I have been able to amass a very respectable amount of items from them and data pertaining to them.

In regards to my video game collection as a whole, my system of choice is the NES. It is the system that I first had when I was younger, and being such, it holds a warm place in my heart. Since probably 95% of my collection comes from a culmination of Thrift Store, Flea Market, Garage Sale and Department store finds; as anyone else knows whose collection isn't built from buying everything off of ebay, other systems are picked up along the way. Because of this, my collection has expanded to other systems, including: RCA Studio II, TI 99/4A, Intellivision, Atari 2600, Atari 5800, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Super Nintendo, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Xbox, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360 and the Wii.

I have always enjoyed playing the games, but since I have an actual job and a moderately active social life, I find that I don't have as much time to play anymore. This doesn't bother me too badly though, as I've found that I have become much more interested in the history and former happenings of the video game industry than I am in playing through all of the games. As far as goals of collecting are concerned, I don't really have any. I'm not looking to complete an entire set of anything since I enjoy the hunt for the items much more than just buying them for cost on ebay. The one goal that I did set for myself I have already obtained, and that was to acquire a copy of the Yellow Zelda Test Cartridge.

I would like to thank NintendoHaven (Rory) for generously hosting all of this as well as Justabum, Mel, Opitekk, NESaholic, Rebecca and my family for giving input on the initial plans for this site--without their help and encouragement I probably never would have gotten the nerve to do any of this!

I truly do hope you enjoy my site, and if you have any questions or would just like to chat about this fascinating hobby of ours, please feel free to send me an e-mail at Limbofunk[at]gmail.com

Cheers,
   Otto
