About Me
For one reason or another, you've decided to check out the 'About Me' page of this site, so here it is. First of all, hello and welcome to my site! I have been an avid collector of video games for quite some time, though my main interest is what this site is about.
In regards to my video game collection as a whole, my system of choice is the NES. It is the system that I first had when I was younger, and being such, it holds a warm place in my heart. I have been scaling back and shifting the focus of my collection recently to delve further into the historical aspect of Nintendo and its 3rd party companies. This being the case, I've let go of a number of different systems that I have been holding onto over the years.
I have always enjoyed playing the NES, but since I have an actual job and a moderately active social life, I find that I don't have as much time to play anymore. This doesn't bother me too badly though, as I've found that I have become much more interested in the history and former happenings of the video game industry than I am in playing through all of the games. As far as goals of collecting are concerned, I don't really have any. I'm not looking to complete an entire set of anything since I enjoy the hunt for the items much more than just buying them for cost on ebay. The one goal that I did set for myself I have already obtained, and that was to acquire a copy of the Yellow Zelda Test Cartridge.
While I'm not extensively active in the online 'scene' of video game collecting too much anymore, I do still take the time to contribute here and there. I sporadically write articles for the e-zine that NintendoAGE releases monthly and am an active contributors for posting rare and interesting auctions on GameSniped.
I would like to thank Link and Gamesniped as a whole for generously hosting this site as well as Penguin (for giving me permission to link to his awesome videos), Justabum, Mel, my fiance Rebecca and my family for giving input on the initial plans for this site--without their help and encouragement I probably never would have gotten the nerve to do any of this!
I truly do hope you enjoy my site, and if you have any questions or would just like to chat about this fascinating hobby of ours, please feel free to send me an e-mail.
Cheers,
Otto
