Game Boy Battery Covers
Not many people realize this, but the replacement of lost battery covers was a rather substantial part of Nintendo's Game Boy repair service. Since there were so many different colors and revisions of the handheld Game Boy system, Nintendo decided that it would be more cost effective for ailing consumers to visit their nearest Authorized Service Center location for their battery cover needs than to have them available for purchase in stores. Can you imagine how many different variations of color and size a store would have to carry to meet the needs of the consumer? This service was frequently used by angry parents and was second in Game Boy repair needs only to screen replacements.
