GameCube Multi-Game Demo Disc Version 14
For the Game Boy, it is without question that the most popular game franchise is Pokemon. When Nintendo released Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire on March 17, 2003 they failed to notice a glitch in the games that would erase the players data after one year had passed. To try and rectify the situation, Nintendo called upon the Service Centers for help. In order to correct the problem, Nintendo created a patch that would transfer a special berry into the player's inventory and would also correct the internal error that would have otherwise erased their game. Nintendo decided to place this patch on their newest GameCube kiosk disc, Version 14 and sent the disc out not only to retailers, but also to their Service Centers with a memo on how to use it. Gamers that needed to update their pokemon Ruby and Sapphire cartridges were sent to their nearest Service Center and were allowed to connect their Game Boy Advance systems to the GameCube via a link cable.
